Farewell, Kindergarten

I simply cannot believe that we are at the end of Kindergarten. It seems like yesterday that I was writing my Kindergarten Prayer, doesn't it?

Channing's kindergarten experience has been ideal. Her teacher was a perfect fit for her. She made friends. She grew in academics like I didn't expect. She loves, loves, loves school (like she doesn't want summer to be here because she will miss her teacher and going to school so much!). We are so lucky.

Kindergarten taught me to let her go when I wanted to hold on tight. It taught me to trust that she will make good choices even when I'm not around. It forced me to hold her accountable and allow her to be more independent. Kindergarten pushed us both out of our comfort zones. It made me realize what all those parents were talking about when I was a teacher. Teachers are worth more than their weight in gold.

To all Channing's teachers this year:
Thank you for loving her from the beginning to the end.

Farewell, Kindergarten...until we meet again in 2016. :)
