Five Summer Favorites

I am in complete denial that summer vacation is almost over.
So today I am doing something crazy. I am joining my first ever link up party (whoop whoop!) AND I'm sharing my summer favorites because I just don't want it to end (please don't leave me summer!). It is crazy up in here.

Here are my five summer favs. (Be sure to check out Andrea's favorites over at Momfessionals too.)

1. Top Knot
I am in the process of growing out my hair for the 2nd time to donate to Locks of Love (Channing is growing hers out too!). I love being able to do this but that means my hair gets very thick and long...and incredibly hot in our Texas heat. So the top knot has been my go-to hairstyle this summer. It's my I-wanna-look-cute-but-wanna-be-lazy-because-it's-summer look.

2. $3.33 Walgreens Tank
I ran into Walgreens to grab some travel bug spray for my trip to Virginia and got distracted by this bin of cute tank tops. I scored this one for $3.33 (yes!) and it has been my favorite. For a mama who doesn't shop for myself very often this find just made my summer!! And if you've been around me this summer, you've probably seen me in this tank more than once. ;)

3. Lifting Weights
I am a "class gal" when it comes to getting fitness. Insanity. Body sculpting. Tabata. Those are in my comfort zones. But this summer I have been lifting weights with my hubby and have really enjoyed it. It's been fun to do something as a couple and get fitness all at once. (You know how I like to be efficient.) I'll spare you the picture of my muscles. ;)

4. Tinted Moisturizer
We spend a lot of time outside and at the pool during the summer. I don't like wearing makeup just to sweat it all off or to have it come off in the pool water. However, since I'm closer to 40 than 30 nowadays (how did that happen?!?) I like to have more coverage on my face. I started using this tinted moisturizer instead of foundation any time I'm going to be outside. It has SPF 30 and it's super lightweight but still offers good coverage. It also comes in several color shades.

5. Lemon Icebox Pie
I'm sure I had you at lemon. This pie just tastes like summer. AND you can make it any time of the year so summer can last forever.
Please don't go, summer. We love you. Click here for the recipe.

Summer Forever!!

  1. Congrats on your first link up, Michelle! They're so much fun! What a steal-of-a-deal on the cute Walgreens tee and that pie!! I believe I could go for a slice right now, and it's only 8 AM! Enjoy your weekend!
