Packing lunches isn't my favorite. So when we were gearing up for Channing to go to Kindergarten I was somewhat stressed about the idea of having to pack a lunch AND a snack everyday. Go ahead and make fun of me. I know. It's a weird thing to stress about. It isn't really the act of packing the snacks, it's thinking of what to pack. So instead of letting it get the best of me I decided to face it head on and make a snack plan.
I sat down with Chan and we brainstormed (great teacher word, huh?!) all the different things she likes to have for snack. They had to be semi-nutritious and classroom appropriate (meaning: not messy).
After we compiled her list of favorite snacks, I put them on a daily rotation to keep things interesting. I also wrote it down and posted it on my fridge to glance at each day.

You can get all fancy and type your list on some cute scrapbook paper, but keeping it simple works just as good! |
And there you have it! Simple and organized! I love it that she gets variety and that I don't have to think about it...I just grab and go!! Now, I know you all have so many other great suggestions on how you organize and prepare snacks and I'd love to hear them!! Ready, set, go!
