Simple Tooth Fairy Pillow

We were at the State Fair last night when Channing discovered that she has her first wiggly tooth!!! Like really wiggly. She has been waiting for this for a long time. We are beyond excited for her (seriously...I think I'm more excited than she is!!).

I knew this day was coming and did not want to be scrambling around at the last minute. So I made this simple tooth fairy pillow this summer in preparation for this big day.

And whew! I am so glad I did because that loose tooth came outta nowhere and it may not even make it through the weekend. It pays to be prepared lovelies. ;)

Here's what ya need:
Fabric
Ribbon
Fabric Marker
Batting

Here's what ya do:
Cut 2 rectangles: 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches each. This will be the pillow.

Cut 1 rectangle 4 1/2 x 3 inches. This will be the pocket.

Fold and iron each edge of the pocket about 1/4 inches.

Use the fabric marker to personalize.

Sew only the top of the pocket. We'll sew the other 3 sides next. Try to sew as close to the edge as possible.

Next, pin the remaining 3 sides of the pocket to the middle of one of the pillow rectangles.

Sew each of the 2 sides and the bottom.  It should make a little pocket like this:

Cut the ribbon to the desired length. Lay on top of pillow front and sew with the ribbon visible on the front of the pillow.

Set your 2 pillow rectangles side by side.

Lay the pillow front (the left rectangle) face down on the pillow back (the right rectangle) so that it looks inside out.

Make sure the ribbon is sandwiched in between the 'pretty side' of the fabric.

Pin all the way around leaving a 2 inch opening in one side (I left the opening at the bottom.)

Sew as close to the edge as possible. Make sure to leave a 2 inch opening.

Now turn the pillow right side out through the opening.

Stuff the batting inside the opening until the pillow is fluffy.

Hand sew the opening closed.

Give yourself a pat on the back. You did it!!

Tooth fairy pillow. Check.
Tooth fairy money envelope. Check.
Now, all we need is to lose that tooth. Stay tuned. :):):)
