WANTED FOR: Being Rich

Last week was Western Day at Chaz's preschool. I know I'm a tiny bit biased, but how cute is this cowboy??

When I went to drop him off the teachers had WANTED posters displayed for each student. Each kiddo came up with a reason why they would be 'wanted'...for being mean to their sibling, for not listening to their parents, etc. And my son wrote this:

Wanted for: being rich. I completely cracked up when I saw this because we are the very picture of not rich (especially 'round these parts!). However, compared to many parts of the world, we are rich beyond imagination. But I know my sweet boy, in all his 5 year old wisdom, doesn't fully understand that yet. So I began to think of all the ways we are rich.

We are rich in our good health. In our family unit. In having 3 meals each day (plus snacks-oh the snacks!). In our friendships. In our church (our village-hallelujah!). In our freedoms. In our opportunities.

I'm starting to think he was right after all. We are wanted for being rich.
