One way I try to simplify my life is by being prepared. And while the main focus of Christmas for us isn't about the "stuff," we do exchange gifts with our family. So in order to enjoy the holiday season more, I try to have all our Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving so I'm not running around last minute or fighting the crowds (who, let's face it, can be less than holly jolly when it comes to holiday shopping).

Organized Photos

Earlier this week I finally posted about my summer DIY chalkpaint project. The reason it took me so long to blog about it wasn't because I had writer's block. It's because I'm a picture procrastinator. There, I said it. I am a picture procrastinator. I am fantastic about taking pictures. But I am terrible about going through photos and organizing them.  

So for our Simple in '16 project this month, we are going to work on organizing our photos. And by we, I mainly mean me. Oh dear, sweet ones, I need some serious advice and accountability in this area. Let's just say that I'm still working on our 2013 photos. Not. Even. Kidding. 

Closet Clean Out: The Sequel

Whoop Whoop! It's Labor Day weekend and the air is turning crisp and cool. Except if you live in Texas. We are pretty much guaranteed to be in the 90-100 degrees range until October. But we can hope and dream of those cooler temps that are right around the corner. And one I do that is by cleaning out my closets and going through all my spring/summer clothes. Simple in '16 is in full effect at our house this weekend!

It's also payday week. So that means this has been the "eat-whatever-is-in-the-fridge-because-you-people-eat-all-the-time-and-I-can't-go-to-the-store-anymore" week. Closet Clean Out

Welcome back to Simple in '16-the place where we are striving for simplicity by organizing and de-cluttering: one project at a time. This month is a big one. Gulp. I'm going to suggest that you get rid of some of your clothes. I know you love them, but you can't possibly love all of them equally. It's time to let some of them go. Don't worry, my lovelies, it's just the cold weather clothes. We'll save the other half of your closet for later in the year. ;)

Office Organizing

Welcome back to Simple in '16 where we are here to keep each other accountable for getting organized! This month we are working on our office spaces and filing cabinets. February is the perfect time to work on this project because I'm usually going through our files to get our tax paperwork ready to send to our accountant. It's super easy to go through everything since it's already out anyway. Double win. Yes!
